La jumătate de secol de la apariția originală, Pink Floyd anunță reeditarea aniversară a albumului „Wish You Were Here”, considerat una dintre cele mai importante creații ale trupei.
Lansarea este programată pentru 12 decembrie 2025, sub forma unui box set deluxe, dar și în formate 3LP, 2CD, Blu-ray și digital.
Noua ediție include versiuni inedite ale unor piese clasice, șase variante alternative și demo-uri, precum și 25 de bonus tracks. Printre acestea se regăsesc nouă rarități de studio și 16 înregistrări live din concertul susținut la Los Angeles Sports Arena, pe 26 aprilie 1975, material restaurat și remasterizat de Steven Wilson.
Pentru a marca anunțul, Pink Floyd au făcut public un demo timpuriu al piesei „Welcome To The Machine”, cunoscută inițial sub titlul „The Machine Song”.
Box set-ul „Wish You Were Here 50” include, pe lângă materialul audio, un LP suplimentar cu înregistrări de la Wembley (1974), o reproducere a single-ului „Have A Cigar” / „Welcome To The Machine”, o carte hardcover cu fotografii inedite, un program de turneu sub formă de bandă desenată și un poster de la Knebworth.

Versiunea digitală va oferi și un nou mix Dolby Atmos semnat de James Guthrie, inginerul de sunet care a colaborat cu Pink Floyd încă de la „The Wall” (1979).
Anul acesta, formația a obținut un nou succes în topuri cu albumul live „Pink Floyd At Pompeii – MCMLXXII”, care a urcat direct pe primul loc în Marea Britanie.
